For such small municipalities we can boast of many attractions. Ventnor, has a full service Library, several playgrounds, a street fair in the summer, fishing piers, a bike path, the famous boardwalk that extends for 9 miles permitting bicycling in the a.m. hours and walkers and joggers all day long, and of course a well known life guarded beach. You will also find a twoplex movie theatre. Our next door neighbor, Margate, offers many fine shops, eateries a plenty including 5 star restaurants, the very famous National Landmark, Lucy the Elephant, once a hotel & restaurant, now a museum. We also enjoy a full service library, several playgrounds, a senior citizen pavilion, a New Year’s Eve street party along the Parkway, the September FunFest which closes off Amherst Avenue for the day, the much anticipated August weekend sidewalk sale, a private beach club, surfing, kayaking, and fishing excursions. Not to mention our clean
and well maintained beach as well as a center for the performing arts. Along with all that our two small cities have to offer, you can’t ignore the gambling casinos and nightlife in Atlantic City, nor the famous Miss America Pageant and parade held every September.

Margate City Climate

We are considered southern New Jersey, but not the southernmost area of the seashore. Our winters are milder than our northern Delaware Valley counterparts and if snow is forecast, it is seldom that we get an immobilizing storm. Our summers are much cooler than the north and one can feel the drop in temperature as soon as you ascend the island.

Margate City Nature

Our most famous natural resource is our ten mile stretch of fine white sandy beach and the salt water Atlantic Ocean. A sight that every resident is proud to show off.
